Sensitive Information. When necessary, with your consent or as otherwise permitted by applicable law, we process the following categories of sensitive information:
- health data
Profile Photos. You can upload a profile photo. This is optional — the app works without one, and you can replace or remove your photo at any time. Profile photos are stored in Supabase Storage in a public bucket and served from a public URL, which means anyone who has the URL, or who guesses it, can view the photo. Please keep that in mind when choosing what to upload.
Payment Data. We may collect data necessary to process your payment if you choose to make purchases, such as your payment instrument number, and the security code associated with your payment instrument. All payment data is handled and stored by Paymob. You may find their privacy notice here.
Application Data. If you use our application(s), we also may collect the following information if you choose to provide us with access or permission:
- Push Notifications. We may request to send you push notifications regarding your account or certain features of the application(s). If you wish to opt out from receiving these types of communications, you may turn them off in your device's settings.
This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our application(s) and for troubleshooting.
02How do we process your information?
In Short: We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law. We may also process your information for other purposes with your consent.
We process your personal information for a variety of reasons, depending on how you interact with our Services, including:
- To facilitate account creation and authentication and otherwise manage user accounts. We may process your information so you can create and log in to your account, as well as keep your account in working order.
04Do we offer artificial intelligence-based products?
In Short: We offer products, features, or tools powered by artificial intelligence, machine learning, or similar technologies.
As part of our Services, we offer products, features, or tools powered by artificial intelligence, machine learning, or similar technologies (collectively, "AI Products"). These tools are designed to enhance your experience and provide you with innovative solutions. The terms in this Privacy Notice govern your use of the AI Products within our Services.
Use of AI Technologies
We provide the AI Products through a third-party AI provider (an "AI Service Provider"). Your input, output, and personal information are shared with and processed by that provider to enable your use of our AI Products, for the purposes outlined in "When and with whom do we share your personal information?" You must not use the AI Products in any way that violates the terms or policies of the AI Service Provider.
What is sent to the AI Service Provider
When a coach uses the AI assistant, the request we send to the AI Service Provider can include information about that coach's clients, such as:
- names and usernames
- phone numbers, for clients managed on-ground
- body measurements and body-fat percentage
- strength records
- coach notes, including notes a coach has marked as private to them
- billing amounts and renewal dates
If you are a client, this means your coach's use of the AI assistant can send the information above to the AI Service Provider.
Our AI Products
Our AI Products are designed for the following functions:
- AI automation
How We Process Your Data Using AI
All personal information processed using our AI Products is handled in line with this Privacy Notice and our agreement with the AI Service Provider.
05Apple Health (HealthKit)
In Short: If you allow it, Coachera reads a small number of readings from Apple Health so your coach can see how recovered you are. We never write anything back to Apple Health, and we never use this data for advertising.
On iOS, Coachera can read the following from Apple Health (HealthKit), and only if you grant permission:
- heart rate variability
- resting heart rate
- sleep
We use these readings for one purpose: so your coach can see your daily readiness. We do not write any data back to Apple Health.
Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, is never sold, and is not shared with anyone except the providers that store it for us, listed under "When and with whom do we share your personal information?"
You can turn off Coachera's access to Apple Health at any time: open the iOS Settings app and go to Privacy & Security → Health → Coachera.
06WHOOP
In Short: If you connect a WHOOP device, WHOOP sends us a wide range of health and fitness measurements about you each day, and we store them — including the complete responses WHOOP sends us.
Coachera can connect to WHOOP. This is optional and applies only to clients who connect a WHOOP device. Your coach sees this data in the same way they see data from Apple Health: so they can see your daily readiness.
What you authorize
When you connect WHOOP, WHOOP asks you to approve Coachera's access. We ask for access to your recovery, sleep, cycles, workouts, profile, and body measurements, together with offline access so the connection keeps working without you signing in to WHOOP again. We ask for this full set the first time you connect, so that you do not have to authorize again later.
What we store
Each day, we store:
- recovery score, heart rate variability, and resting heart rate
- blood oxygen (SpO₂), skin temperature, and respiratory rate
- sleep hours, sleep performance, sleep efficiency, and sleep consistency
- REM, deep, and light sleep, awake time, time in bed, sleep need, disturbances, and sleep cycles
- strain, average and maximum heart rate, and calories
We also store a record for each workout, with the sport name, the start and end times, and the strain.
Blood oxygen (SpO₂), skin temperature, and respiratory rate are more sensitive than the other measurements above, and are closer to clinical readings.
We store the full responses from WHOOP
Alongside the measurements listed above, we store the complete, unmodified responses that WHOOP sends us for your recovery, sleep, and cycle data. Those responses can contain fields beyond the ones listed here.
As with all health data described in this notice, data from WHOOP is never used for advertising or marketing, is never sold, and is not shared with anyone except the providers that store it for us.
07Crash and error reporting
In Short: When the app crashes or hits an error, we send a technical report to Sentry so we can find the problem and fix it. These reports do not include your name, email address, or any health or fitness data.
We use Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) to diagnose crashes and errors in the app. Sentry acts as a data processor on our behalf, and this data is stored in the European Union(Sentry's EU region). We use it for one purpose: diagnosing crashes and errors so they can be fixed.
What is sent
When the app crashes or hits an error, the report may include:
- crash reports and stack traces
- a breadcrumb trail of your recent actions in the app
- reports of handled errors, such as a save that failed
- your device platform (iOS or Android), the app version, the release channel, and whether the app was running a downloaded over-the-air update
- a pseudonymous account identifier (an internal UUID) and your account role (coach or client)
What is not sent
Crash and error reports do not include:
- your name
- your email address
- your username
- your IP address
- your location
- your health or fitness data
- performance or tracing data
- session replays or screen recordings
Crash reporting is disabled in development builds.
This data is not used for advertising, is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites, and is not sold.
08How long do we keep your information?
In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice unless otherwise required by law.
We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). In general, we do not need to keep your personal information for longer than the period of time in which you have an account with us.
Crash and error reports are an exception. Those are held by Sentry and deleted on Sentry's own retention schedule, so a report can remain there for a period after an account is closed. Those reports identify an account only by a pseudonymous identifier, and do not contain your name or email address.
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
09How do we keep your information safe?
In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.
We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.
10What are your privacy rights?
In Short: You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time, depending on your country, province, or state of residence.
Withdrawing your consent: If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, which may be express and/or implied consent depending on the applicable law, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us.
Account Information
If you would at any time like to review or change the information in your account or terminate your account, you can:
- Log in to your account settings and update your user account.
- Contact us using the contact information provided.
Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases. However, we may retain some information in our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our legal terms and/or comply with applicable legal requirements.
If you have questions or comments about your privacy rights, you may email us at fadymagdy2000@icloud.com.
11Controls for do-not-track features
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice.
12Do we make updates to this notice?
In Short: Yes, we will update this notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws.
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Revised" date at the top of this Privacy Notice. If we make material changes to this Privacy Notice, we may notify you either by prominently posting a notice of such changes or by directly sending you a notification.
